And Libs - Food stamps DO NOT supplant the private sector, as Obama's government "option" (in name only) is going to.If Healthcare is a "right", isn't food? Shouldn't the government take over our food delivery system?
"Don鈥檛 set out to raze all shrines鈥攜ou鈥檒l frighten men. Enshrine mediocrity, and the shrines are razed." -Ellsworth Toohey.
You are getting the point. If the commies came right out and said, "Life, liberty, and property for individuals are outdated, the needs of the many outweigh the rights of the individual," There would be revolution overnight. But if they can get people to accept as a truism that health care, or food, or electricity, etc., which are not rights, are rights, then anything can be a "right", which means nothing is a right, and no one will have any rights. The commies have been playing a deep game for over 100 years, and their predecessors for much, much, longer. Obama is not leading us to the future, he is leading us back to the cave.If Healthcare is a "right", isn't food? Shouldn't the government take over our food delivery system?
I do see a lot of long bread lines in America's future...
Healthcare isn't a right. You don't have an inalienable right to anybody else's services. If Healthcare is a "right", isn't food? Shouldn't the government take over our food delivery system?
Give them time,I'm sure they are already thinking about it.
Do you think that Federal and State Governments don't already have a tight grip on our food supply? From growing it in the fields to checking it for quality to legislating how it is served.
The government isn't offering a single payer system, so stop pretending like it.If Healthcare is a "right", isn't food? Shouldn't the government take over our food delivery system?
"A little government involvement is just as dangerous as a lot 鈥?because the first leads inevitably to the second" - Harry Browne
Good idea. Write your congressman and suggest this.
They probably will after they get done giving citizenship to all of the illegals.
Healthcare is a right of every American and illegal immigrant that enters this fine nation.
It is like your right to bare arms- Obama thinks that means you can rip out your shirt sleeves if you wish and you now have your right to bare arms
Certainly food stamps are a step in that direction. Also such programs as those which make sure that kids who don't get a reasonable breakfast get something during the school day. They have a proven success record, but not a stunning one.
Yes, I think a certain amount of food - the base level to survive, *IS* a right, at least in the US.
But certainly gourmet food is not a right.
Currently you don't particularly have a right to food that is good for you, only food that meets a base caloric amount. No real thought has been put into this with the kind of scrutiny health care is getting.
By the way, when you say "And Libs..." you immediately lose your credibility as you show you have an axe to grind. It is your opinion that the current Health Care bill will supplant the private sector, and frankly, I hope it does replace parts of the private sector because the private sector is handling it so badly. However, it is not by any stretch a given. It is your opinion.
Nobody is suggesting that the Health Care bill will replace all private functions within health care. There is no country on Earth, currently, where that is true. Why would you expect the US to be the first?
Never-the-less, I think this is a very good question.
