What is with food delivery charge?

pizza hut and domino's went from free delivery, to $1.25, to now $2.50! this is absurd! their pizza prices also went up, so I don't wanna hear it's bc of gas prices.



I refuse to tip the delivery person now. I will just assume they get the $2.50 delivery charge.What is with food delivery charge?

First of all, the price of EVERYTHING has gone up.



Because gas went up, the price of anything that gets delivered is going to go up (this includes pizza ingredients). How does the restaurant get their ingredients? They are delivered by a driver. It's all relative.



That's very rude of you to not tip the delivery driver. It's not their fault the pizza place raised their delivery charge. And I say, if $2.50 is going to make you throw a hissy fit, go get the pizza yourself.
thats right. mind you i might round up a bill but not to the 15 to 20% level i used to . i take that charge as the base tip and add to it to make the percentage i feel he deserves.

Yes, virginia, it is because of the fuel cost of driving to your house and delivering the pizza, plus the danger incurred by being a delivery driver who might get mugged or robbed at any time. I doubt the driver sees any of that money.

You need to drive yourself and pick up your own damn pizza who the hell do you think you are? The delivery charge goes to the restaurant not the driver who works for minimum wage and uses his own car and his gas for which he is not reimbursed. So complain to the restaurant and don't take out higher prices on the driver who is suffering the most and punish him for doing his job and for a situation he did not create.
