Should we tip late food delivery??

I ordered food from a Japanese Restaurant to be delivered to the office. It took them an hour to get here, and they forgot one of the orders. The total was $14.40 and I gave him $2 tip. The delivery guy had to go back to the restaurant and come back again, which took him about another hour.



Does he deserve an additional tip?

Yes, I always tip $2.00 no matter the cost.
maybe not the whole amount 10%...but something lil.like 2 % or 5%..cause after all he drove all the way to your office!
It was not the delivery persons fault. It was the fault of the establishment that prepared the orders before sending them out.



Best thing would be to contact the establishment and let them know they messed up big time and maybe even get a free meal out of it.
No. You already gave him a tip, and it is not your fault that he had to come back again.
I say depends if he/she is nice and polite about it...If I feel bad for them I might throw them another buck...Why not. Definetely a judgement call...If I order from there a lot YES...If I dont then heck no.

they are gay for not being on time. so they do not deserve the tip! so keep the change for the next time and maybe they will learn their lesson
Only tip the delivery guy if you don't want him to spit in your food next time you order from that restaurant.
It's usually not the driver's fault the order was screwed up. Delivery drivers often work only for tips- so making a trip and not getting a tip sucks. You should have tipped him better the first time. If something happens with your order call the store and ask for a discount on the price of the meal - but still tip the driver the normal amount...unless he's rude.

It was nice of you to tip the delivery guy--chances are it wasn't completely his fault. But ONE tip is sufficient for ONE order.
i am a delivery restaurant manager, and i think you should not have tipped, that was terrible service and you should have been offered a credit for next time, the order should have been free, or simply offer your money back. oh yes and an apology.
If it was the restaurants fault then yes tip the delivery person, but half the first time and half the last time.
absolutely! There's about an 95% chance that it's not the driver's fault that it was late. So, don't punish the driver!!



You should HOWEVER call and complain about the service to the manager or owner! If they don't offer you some kind of compensation then make a point to tell them you WON'T be ordering from them again.

no he should have checked the order before he left. You shouldn't have tipped him in the first place.
