I work in food industry as delivery driver. The owners want to cut our salery to 2.00 an hour!! allowed?

I thought we as drivers should get X amount per mile just for gas and towards maintenance... Anything I can research and present? As of right now I can only help organize the strike... Thanks for any input!I work in food industry as delivery driver. The owners want to cut our salery to 2.00 an hour!! allowed?
If your salary has been agreed to in writing, it can not be reduced as it will result in serious legal complications for your employer.

The fixation of wages depends generally on the current practice followed in your type of business. Any remuneration for mileage and maintenance may be available if you own the trucks, but then it again depends on the actual contract.

If you have a strong union and all the members are facing similar problem, you have to issue a legal notice to the employer not to reduce the rates failing which you may be compelled to take necessary legal steps at the risk and costs of the company.

You must first use all possible methods to peacefully resolve by approaching legal forums. Try to avoid taking law into your hands.
