Always get an Estimated time when you call for
your food delivery for arrival.
Unless there is a major storm/roads are bad -
Food should arrive within 45 min.'s - depending on what you order - A Big order takes up to that, a medium pizza about 30 min.s
Cardinal Rule - If you wait an hour and your food comes
to your door cold, don't take it! Certainly don't tip if you do
take it as sometimes It Is the driver's fault - ALWAYS
call and complain. If you're diplomatic about it, you can usually get a deal on your next order.
But then I would try another place to order from the
next time! Common Sense prevails here. :-)How long do you have to wait for food delivery before you don't give a tip or shouldn't have to pay?
you always have to pay unless they have some type of "rule" - you received the food so.... tipping is different. if it's bad weather or you live in a hard to find area.... that's another story. How long do you have to wait for food delivery before you don't give a tip or shouldn't have to pay?
31 minutes.
Usually the call gives you an estimate on delivery ie. 45 mins... when it gets 30 mins past the estimate I give a call to see where it is at. If the driver got lost or bad weather and gets here w/in 10 mins I still tip. If they are an hour late, token tip ie. less than 15%How long do you have to wait for food delivery before you don't give a tip or shouldn't have to pay?
Well if they give a time, like 30 mins. and they don't bring it by that time then.
ALWAYS TIP!! it is not the delivery persons fault most of the time it is the company you ordered from giving him the order too slow. They are providing a service and making a minimal income. If it takes too long you have every right to call the place you ordered from and request that they either give you a discount or that they handle the bill for you.How long do you have to wait for food delivery before you don't give a tip or shouldn't have to pay?
as long as the food gets there while it is still warm, then the delivery person brought it as soon as possible.. if it arrives cold I would tip less..
90 min
Depends on what you ordered and where you live and yes weather is always a factor too. To me, anything past 45 min is just ridiculous and does not get a tip. But then I live in a very small town and pizza or hot wings is all that gets home delivery.
I don't agree with alot of what the others have said. It shouldn't matter where you live, most food delivery services have big city maps on their wall so that the driver knows where he is going before he leaves. Next, the weather is a lame excuse unless it's like a blizzard outside, I mean giving him the excuse of weather is not a good one, he would drive slower in the rain, when it's hot out what is the excuse. If my food is cold or luke warm when it gets to my house I will not tip at all. I can not pay someone who did not do their job to the best of their ability and am not getting good service if I have to re warm my food. If it's warm then I will tip and how quickly they get to my house depends on how much I tip them.
45 minutes or more.
