I would have refused the food and tipped the driver. In no way was this his fault and is probably having a tough night if this kind of service is the norm from his restaurant! Was it rude to refuse delivery food?
At the moment you decided you did not want the food - you should have called the restaurant and canceled the order.
IMHO if you did not do that, and just let the delivery person go all the way to your house for nothing - then yes, it was rude and you should have taken the order, paid for it and tipped the driver.
Two HOURS? Now if it were me, I would have asked what time the food should be expected. I've run late before and had so many orders backed up that it just wasn't feasible to get them all out on time.
Rude or not, it would have made leftovers for the weekend. Two hours is a bit much to wait for dinner, especially since you called them once. I wouldn't order from them again, or use pick up instead. Was it rude to refuse delivery food?
I have worked in the buisness. Not as a driver but as the person who dealt with the complaints. YES I would complain. Its not the delivery persons fault but he knows what goes on. I would not have takn the food and he would not have gotten a tip. Take it up wit managment!!
He doesnt care.As long as he's getting payed.
But taking that long for delivery?
i would have COMPLAINED.Was it rude to refuse delivery food?
